Plot: WARNING!: I Tell the Endings!
This was the last film of the original Godzilla
series. Inshiro Honda came back as director and Akira Ifukube
performed, what I call, the best musical score since the original
Godzilla. A submarine expedition is sent out into the ocean to
look for the remaining parts of Mechagodzilla that dropped into
the ocean after Godzilla destroyed it in the previous movie.
The submarine men end up only finding a tiny piece, and not the
whole thing. All of a sudden, an underwater creature attacks
the submarine.
Interpol received a mayday call and analyzed
it at a meeting. Biologist Ichinose is stunned that one of the
people on the expedition claims that a dinosaur is attacking
the submarine. He also hears the monster's roar in the background
of the tape.
Ichinose, along
with an Interpol agent named Murakoshi, discover that the dinosaur
that attacked the submarine is called "Titanosaurus."
Years before, a professor named Dr. Mafune discovered the dinosaur
at his former institute, and also claimed that he controlled
it. The people there thought he was mad and crazy and kicked
him out. Ichinose and Murakoshi travel to Dr. Mafunwe's house.
They are greeted at the door by Dr. Mafune's daughter, Katsura.
She tells them that Dr. Mafune is dead and she burned his papers
after he died. Dr. Mafune, though, is actually still alive. He
plans to get revenge on the world with his Titanosaurus.
The space monkeys (also known as the Simeons) are
back! After Godzilla destroyed Mechagodzilla in the previous
movie, the Simeons colleced the wreckage and rebuilt him more
powerful than before. They find out Mafune's plan to get revenge
on the Earth, and decide to add him along with his Titanosaurus
to take over the Earth.
Ichinose and
Murakoshi decide to take another submarine expedition, this time
to find Titanosaurus. Katsura warns him not to go over the phone.
One of the Simeons hangs up the phone and tells her who she really
is. Many years before, while using the Titanosaurus controller,
she was killed by electric shock. The Simeons took her away and
revived her by turning her into a cyborg.
Titanosaurs
shows up during the underwater expedition to destroy the submarine.
It is later injured by supersonic waves and the submarine makes
it back safely. Interpol
then decides to make a weapon using supersonic waves to destroy
Titanosaurs in an emergency. Dr. Mafune is disgusted after Katsura
tells him about Titanosaurus's weakness. He orders Titanosaurs
to attack the city. Godzilla, in the best entrance ever in the
Godzilla series, shows up and fights Titanosaurus. Titanosaurus
later retreats. Katsura, now controlled by the Aliens, almost
destroys the supersonic wave weapon. The military and Murakoshi
shoot her and her body falls into the sea. The Simeons revive
her again, this time placing the Mechagodzilla controller inside
of her.
Ichinose is captured by the
Simeons, and bound. They release Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus
to attack (where else?) Tokyo. Godzilla later shows up and fights
the two. Interpol fixes the supersonic wave weapon and attacks
Titanosaurus with it. Ichinose cuts the rope off using a sharp
rock behind him and strangles one of the Simeons. Katsura points
a gun at him, but Murakoshi laters shoots her in the arm. Katsura
falls out of the aliens' control. The aliens escape but are later
destroyed by Godzilla's breath. Godzilla destroys Mechagodzilla,
and later kills Titanosaurus, who falls into the ocean. Godzilla
lets out one last roar, and walks into the ocean sunset, ending
the original Godzilla series.
 This
movie was definately much, much better than Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.
In Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, Mechagodzilla only attacked Tokyo
for a few seconds. In this one, he attacks Tokyo throughout the
movie. Godzilla's opening scene has to be the best one in the
Godzilla series. The special effects in this one were very much
of an improvement from the other films. Hey, save the best for
last you might as well say. Akira Ifukube's musical score is
totally awesome. Much, much better than the goofy one in the
previous film. But then again, people liked that score a lot
so I guess I should shut my big yapper. Anyway, since this Godzilla
movie was not really made for children as most of the previous
ones were, the storyline is obviously, to adults, much better.
Just everything in this movies is much better! If you just want
to collect the good Godzilla movies, this is a defanite! If you
saw the previous film, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, I guarentee
you that you'll like this one a lot!

Goodbye for now Godzilla!
