Like some other Toho monster
stars, Gorosaurus first appeared in a non-Godzilla film. In King
Kong Escapes, Gorosaurus was discovered on Mondo Island by
Lieutenant Susan Watson. Gorosaurus was attacked and killed by
(Toho's) King Kong. Gorosaurus is a theropod dinosaur, who, like
Angilas and Rodan, does not have any energy weapons and must
rely on his own natural abilities. Gorosaurus has sharp claws
and teeth, which he uses often. Gorosaurus also has a brutal
kick, where he jumps up, balances on his tail, and smacks his
opponent with his feet. Gorosaurus used his awesome kick in his
first Godzilla movie, Destroy All Monsters, against King
Ghidorah (see picture to the right).
In Destroy All Monsters,
Gorosaurus, along with the rest of the world's monsters, was
moved to Monsterland where he couldn't escape and attack civilization.
Gorosaurus later was put under the control of the Kilaaks, and
attacked Paris, destroying the Arc de Triompe (Baragon though
was given the blame). After Earth regained control of the monsters
Gorosaurus played a major role in the great monster brawl against
King Ghidorah on Mount Fuji. He, along with Godzilla, Angilas,
and Minya delivered the final blows to King Ghidorah, and saving
the Earth from the evil Kilaaks.
Gorosaurus' last Godzilla movie
appearance was in Godzilla's Revenge, when Ichiro explores
Monster Island for the first time. Gorosaurus, though, existed
only in Ichiro's imagination at the time.
